What this module does

A customer's QA team asks for the inspection record for an operation completed three weeks ago. Without structured templates, the supervisor finds a paper form in a binder, photographs it, emails the JPG, and hopes the dates and signatures are legible enough. The customer sends back a question about the line on row 14 the supervisor cannot read; another exchange follows; the part is in production limbo for three days because nobody has agreed whether the record is complete. With a structured report tied to the operation, the inspection arrives as a signed A4 PDF in two minutes, the values rendered, the approver's signature on the bottom, the operation context up top.

Key pages

Report turns paper inspection forms into structured records tied to the production order and operation. A manager builds a template once and links it to the work centres where it applies; an operator opens an operation, picks the template that surfaces there, fills it, and submits. The record carries the production order, operation, and work centre automatically. A report moves through pending, approved, and rejected, and is read-only once approved. Form values are append-only and each report stays locked to the template revision it was filled against, so an old report always shows the form it was actually filled on. Approved reports print as a signed A4 document, the approver's signature pulled from their profile at print time.

Operators stop searching for the right paper form. The customer auditing the shop receives a signed PDF, not a photograph of a binder. The QA lead opens last quarter's reports and reads them on the templates they were filled against, not on the latest template that drifted in the rewrite three months ago. And the conversation with the customer about a finished part ends the same hour it starts, instead of three days later with a thread of clarifications about a JPG.

How this fits

Production

Reports are created from operations; a template’s work centres decide where it shows.

HSEQ

Inspection reports and NCRs are the two halves of the quality record for a job.

General

The approver’s signature comes from their profile and renders into the printed report.
